I was excited to see this tournament kick off. PUBG zoomed into the spotlight and became a top game very quick. When I first seen it, I didn't even like it, now I can't pull myself away from it at 3 A.M. Needless to say when I seen a tournament was underway. I knew I had to watch it, because lets face it, I'm not good enough to win it! This isn't to show who won or lost. Who did good or bad. Just the overall feel of it and how I was excited to watch it unfold.
I missed day one sadly. Though I got reports of how Evermore trolled, sorry I mean healed it his way to victory on day one. He won a round and then secured enough points to in the long haul to win the day. Needless to say, some people were not happy about the way he did this. Some say he should have tried to win by killing, but in a game of survival. Killing can get you killed quicker than not killing sometimes. Evermore took advantage of the mechanics of the game. Using the gas and meds to outlast his competitors in the long haul. This allowed him to stay safe while being able to accumulate a lot of points by staying alive. I call it being smart, but that is just me.
Duos 3rd person. I really like how this went down. Even though you had 4 players from each team. They had to break off and pair up. This meant that C9 or TSM had to fight each other. I don't think I seen many teams even engaging each other, but it was fun to see my favorite team playing and doing well. In both perspectives. This is where two people can really shine. It is a lot easier to communicate and loot with just two people rather than four. Some players prefer FPP as opposed to 3rd person. I understand that each have their own skill levels, let alone pros and cons. I dig the FPP. I think shooters should be played that way.
This was the best day for me. All the hype building up for the squad rounds. It was a great effort all around in all 3 rounds. In the end, Luminosity Gaming pulled away with the overall win. They handed out trophies in the form of Iron Pans! I thought that was great, considering the pan has saved many of us, many times!
I had fun watching all that I did. The only thing I didn't like was the constant switching of who they were focusing on. The camera man could use some work. Other than that. HEADSHOT! I look forward to the next one and who knows. You might see some new faces and teams emerge from this first PUBG Invitational.
